Elsa Everyday Photo for May 31

Elsa is kicking and playing and cooing on a colorful quilt made by her
friends' Grammy Sue. She says, "ooh, goo, oh!" Its very sweet!

EE for May 30

Elsa visited the ER early Monday morning for a high fever. She left a
little bit healthier five hours later. Its a cold, but colds are
scary for newborns.

Elsa Everyday May 25

She is growing so fast, but this 0-3 month sleeper still swallows her up!

EE May 24

Elsa is a fabulous napper. I say that because she is so peaceful
during her sleeps and wakes up in such a great mood!

Elsa Everyday May 21

One month ago, the hair bow was too loose to stay on her head! Now
she can wear it properly. She is really growing!

Best Milestone So Far: Smiles!

Elsa,
You are four and a half weeks old and tonight when I picked you up for your middle of the night feeding, you gave me a great gift.  I'd been awake in bed, listening to you stir.  You were grunting, panting, and licking your lips, so I assumed you were very hungry and would want to get straight to business.  Instead, you looked up at me with a look of recognition and SMILED.  You grinned about a dozen times, each one a little bit different.  I exclaimed, and your dad got up to see you smile, too.  I hope you smile for him tomorrow because he isn't as alert in the middle of the night as I am (less practice!).

Your grin is toothless (of course) and actually close-mouthed, something that surprises me.  Its really cute.

Thanks for this present!
Love
Mama

Little Movie of Elsa!

Taken at about 7 AM on Thursday, May 19, 2011.

Elsa Everyday for May 19

Elsa has started making sweet faces that are similar to smiles! This
was taken this morning when we had some 1:1 time when Daniel was still
asleep. It was so special!

EE May 7

Elsa was the most popular girl at the John F. Hodge Class of 2001 Ten
Year Reunion.

EE for May 17

This is the place where she and her mother spend most of their times
together! The sofa is the center of our home!

EE for May 4

Elsa's first softball game attendance. Her dad had three HRs and
more than six RBIs. She wasn't too impressed - she cried or slept the
whole game!

EE for May 16

She's been noticing herself in the mirror since week 3. I am excited
to see her start smiling at herself in the mirror. This is a great
advantage of having her changing station on my dresser instead of in
the nursery on the changing table. The other great advantage is for
her brother, who is currently enjoying silent nights free from a
sister in his room!

Elsa Everyday Blog Address (May 15 photo)

Being a little sister can be difficult! Photo taken seconds after her
big brother loved on her with a little too much energy!

PS - Elsa Everyday can be viewed at her blog, rather than emailed.
Let me know if you want to know how to get her blog updates via email
or if your email inbox is too full for these photos! I want to
include everyone in the photos, but want you to know you can see them
online instead of getting an email. Here is her website...

I Am Glad You Were Born Contest Comment

One of the blogs I follow, Cotton Babies, is sponsoring a little contest with the sentence starter... I'm Glad You Were Born.

I am glad YOU were born, Miss Elsa... if you weren't born three weeks ago, I'd be nearly 42 weeks pregnant, which would be very uncomfortable, I bet!

Here is the comment I left:

I am so glad you were born, dear children. I delight in your charm and beauty and find a renewed sense of meaning for my life when we are together as a family of four. Though motherhood was not an original ambition I set for my life, each day I set a goal to be the best mom I can be for you two, which includes being emotionally and physically present for you receptive to how you show me love.

Son: I am thankful for our twenty one month relationship together. You light up my life and bring joy to our home.

Daughter: I am eagerly anticipating our life together, too. Three weeks is a short time to be your mother and thus I am giddy with the thought of being blessed by you for the rest of my life.

EE May 13

Her afternoon nap is a time of total relaxation. She slept as my mom
transfered her from an indoor nap to the car seat and then for an hour
later in the car and being carried around an elementary school in a
baby sling. She gets GOOD afternoon shut eye!

Even though we were at playground, Daniel couldn't stand being away
from his sister for very long. He nuzzled and fussed over her instead
of playing!
