DDD and EE for December 28, 2011

They really do have fun together. I don't understand their jokes, but
they communicate in laughter.

Elsa Everyday December 27

This toy wiggles and plays music and Elsa laughs and yells at it.

Elsa Everyday for December 26

This expression is what Elsa did most of Christmas weekend. She was
cautiously curious, almost suspicious of the whole holiday.

Elsa Everyday for December 25, 2011

Elsa on Christmas Evening, after a day spent at church, laughing with
relatives, one very long afternoon nap, and a party at Aunt Sandy's
house.

Grandma Landolt.

EE December 19

Elsa proves the point that "babies are more interested in a box than
the toy" here. She played with her brother's toy packaging for a very
long time yesterday! I think she'll have a good time playing with
non-toys this weekend!

Tub Time at Nanny's

Elsa is 7 months old, Daniel is 29 months old.

Snack Time.

On the menu: yogurt puffs and graham crackers.
With a side of cute.

Christmas Nativity Set

We gave the kids a nativity set.  Elsa enjoyed watching Daniel take out the figures, but she has had very little interaction with them (they are made in China and I'm concerned about toxins in the paint.  She is teething and gnaws on everything!)

I hope that this will be great fun for her next year, and I expect she'll spend a lot of time in future Christmases arranging the manger scene as I did as a girl.

A Baby For Christmas

Isn't a baby for Christmas the most wanted gift?
Shoot, its gotta be.
It even comes with a red ribbon!

What is that you say?
The stores are fresh out?
There's a waiting list for a Christmas baby?

Sad news for you. I've got this year's model and SHE is PERFECT.

It seems a bit inappropriate or inadvsible to say out loud, but I
actually DO hope I have a baby for Christmas every single year. In
addition to inappropriate and inadvisable, I think its probably
impossible.

EE December 15

Her lovely corderoy dress is from Aunt Rachel. I selected the little
pink shoes for her, and she thinks they are a toy and tries to take
them off! She was so pretty wearing this little outfit.

Play Time 7 Months

Elsa gets lots of wiggle time on a blanket.
I try to give her a single toy so she can spend time focusing on that because she seems a little distracted by multiple toys.  I also sometimes forgo the toys for straight up wiggling time!

Voice Exercise

Elsa is currently working on a few new vocal skills.
1) Volume
2) Pitch
3) syllables
4) vowels

She done whispers since early in her sixth month, and now she's up to almost eight months and has the ability to shriek!

She says mama mama mmmmaaaamamamasmamammamam.  Usually mama means something like I want my mommy! Or Let's Eat!
