Elsa Everyday from May 25, 2012

This grumpy face is a result of me telling Elsa it was time to put
away the cup of counters. She carried the red cup around the house
all morning, dumping it occasionally and then carefully picking up
each animal shaped counter to put back into the cup.

EE May 24

This small jar and screw top lid are some of Elsa's favorite toys
these days. She plays with this thing for so long, coming back to it
day after day, putting things in, taking them out, and doing the lid
off and on again.

EE and DDD for May 22

Daddy reading time is one of the best parts of our day.

Elsa is starting to enjoy lap time reading before bed! Daniel usually
cannot stand by and let a book go unseen, so he horns in on her
bedtime rituals, too. He remembers the words to her baby stories so
well that he can read them to her himself!

EE May 21

Elsa loves this book of baby faces, each with a different emotion.
When she finds it, she pulls it on her lap and starts to screech at
the children. Usually she reads the book like this, "EEEE, dee di
didibeee, seeeee!". I think that can be translated to, "See those
cute babies! I love them! Just look at those little cuties!"

DDD and EE May 20, 2012

Some days we cannot get the swim suits and sunscreen on quick enough
for these water babies.

EE and DDD for May 19, 2012

Scene from dinner prep tonight:

Things to notice in this photo:
- two kids on the helping tower
- bite out of one of the pizzas
- Elsa's delight that there will be tomato sauce involved

EE 5-18

She tests the water before venturing in. This is her personality exactly.

In the Bath.

Sit down, baby!! She hears this a dozen times each bath, and she always complies to the command, only to stand up a few seconds later.

Exploring the toys.

Lying back, enjoying no brother in the bath, but still a little fussy about baths.  She likes them less than Daniel ever has, and usually for only about five minutes (which is twenty minutes less than he liked them at this age!)
Photos taken first week of May 2012 - Elsa is 12 months, one week old.

Wake UP Brother!

Each morning and after his afternoon nap, it is usually Elsa who races into their room to get Daniel up to play.  She squeals and climbs onto the bed to tackle/tickle him.

EE May 17

She loves the pool!

Her Push Car

Elsa has mastered the art and science of the push car.

She races it back and forth on the patio, and when she gets to one edge of the patio using the handle bars, she inches along the car to the opposite side and uses the back bar to push it back across the patio.  She can (and does!) this over and over.

She has learned how to indicate she needs help sitting down on the seat, and when she is seated, she scoots her way across the patio using her feet.  She can also indicated she wants a parent to push her while she sits!

She hasn't mastered pushing her brother on the car, but she thinks she has!  Daniel tricked her by scooting himself while she held onto the back handle.  She was so proud of herself that she was pushing him!

EK for May 16

She loves California Rolls and Dragon Rolls, but will eat most of my
Shrimp Tempura Roll if given the chance.

Mud Puddle Play

Believe it or not, this mud puddle was discovered by
Elsa!  She had such a good time getting dirty, and her brother followed her lead and started to play alongside her, too.

She splashed and squished and squealed for half an hour.  She LOVED the experience and was certainly very curious.
