Melting Snow and Color Change Hot Wheels

Instead of playing outside in snow with brother, we brought some snow inside to explore.

She let me know it was "told" and that she liked stirring snow into warm water and making the snow be "all done". It was fun for me to watch her explore temperature and phase change.

She also enjoyed the color change hot wheels - a toy from her Dad's youth.

These small containers of water and you cars gave Elsa one solid hour of play!

Mother and Daughter

This photo is from last week when the kids met us at the hospital to visit Benjamin and to say goodbye before staying with Haid grandparents. Elsa ran around the hospital room and was exploring the buttons on my bed. She did stop long enough to watch Daniel hold the baby and sit on my lap for this photo Nanny took with her kindle.

New Words

It's probably not going to work to list them out anymore because Elsa has a dozen new words a day.

She parrots after us, repeating the last words of a sentence.

She answers questions and totally understands what we are asking. She sometimes responds to questions with "sure!" Or "a cuz" (because).

She sings and hums songs.

She asks Please! At appropriate times, apologizes when we ask/demand her to make amends for disobeying, and says thank you.

She asks questions, makes demands, answers questions, says exclamations like, "oh boy!", and is a happy talking almost two year old.

I have zero worries about her receptive language, vocabulary, or interest in communicating with us. She is a little rock star!!

Happy Stamper

Elsa, do you want to do an art project?

Yipeeeeee!! Sure!

This girl is always ready to craft, paint, or write. I spent some one on one time with Elsa and an art project. It was stamping first, then crayon, colored pens, and markers. She enjoyed herself and I really enjoyed her.

Reading with Girlfriends and Grandmas

Elsa and The Hoemann sisters shared Grandmas for a story time this week. Grammy Sue and Nanny Douglas enjoyed as much as they did!

Blanket Hat

Elsa's idea during baby laundry time.

Funny Little Girlfriends

I could not eliminate any of these photos of Elsa and Emma and Charlotte. They are all so precious. It's the first time our girls have enjoyed photos together and really had a ball playing together.

Some of these photos are of the girls doing one of Elsie's favorite things - applying facial lotion!

Trip to STJ

Elsa was sure ready to get into her Nanny's car and leave Columbia! She got her own shoes on, packed a little back pack, and hung on the door knob! She is a good traveller!

On Saturday it was so warm and pretty. She played all day outside. Both her aunts were there to do swing set and bubble blowing Sunday was cold and windy, but Elsa likes inside time, too. She would tell them she needed "seep" and climb up stairs to her bed. She would say, "me" and climb into bed herself and put herself down for a rest.

Another Snowfall, Some More Snow Shoveling

This time Elsa got involved in the shoveling of snow.  She was excited to do it, but only for twenty minutes or  so.  Then she needed to play and sled!
