Family Hike

This weekend we did an afternoon adventure. When we arrived at our trailhead on Saturday and had just applied big spray and loaded up to take the trek, a thunderstorm began and forced is to postpone the trip. Elsa was devastated and threw a fit. She cheered up with the mention of a sonic treat, however.

On Sunday we tried again. The weather was mild and Elsa was in good spirits. Daddy carried her most of the way, by her request, on his shoulders. 

Elsa liked scooping water and called, "come here, fishes!!" When trying to catch them. She was not interested in holding the minnow that cast caught, but he did like helping to build a dam. She said, "Day-um,, show you mommy!!" She was proud of their work. 

It was a great little adventure.

Turtle Nest

Elsa and her dad found a turtle nesting on the trail. They peeked in the hole and saw eggs. Elsa was excited! She said, "eggies!" And when asked what was inside the eggs, she said, "Baby chickens!!"
