raspberry blowing these days! Its all practice for talking, I am

Elsa Everyday for October 9
She still enjoys a good bath. Last night, she had one in Grandma
Becky's kitchen sink! She sat up for that bath, while she usually
reclines in the baby tub at our house. After both types of baths, she
emerges smelling so clean and in a very pleasant mood.

Elsa Everyday for October 8
Elsa ate most of a cube of homemade butternut squash baby food! She's
very hungry these days around 9 AM, 1 PM, and 6 PM... which is right
at our meal times!

Elsa Everyday for October 7
Elsa really brightened up the other day when hearing her grandpa
Douglas's voice on the telephone. She started to cackle and goo. We
found this really neat, and remembered when Daniel would enjoy
listening to my dad talk at this age, too.

Allllllllmost a Roller
Elsa seems to actively avoid rolling over. She uses her long arms to grab and bat at whatever she wants to be closer to her. She arches so far up and to the back that she's nearly doing a backbend, when its clearly easier to roll over. When put on her belly, she usually shrieks a bit and then fusses. Its not her favorite activity, that's for sure. She is tolerating it better than ever before, and I notice she is good at lifting her head, feet, and legs. She is also starting to push her bottom in the air and push her arms against the floor, and I can tell she doesn't know it yet, but she's learning about which muscles will help her to crawl!
Such a Great Baby
Elsa, I've heard that parents should NOT ever say their babies are all good, all bad, or any other statements that sound like judgements about character rather than statements about the present. I have to tell you though, you are a GREAT baby. You know how to spit up, how to cry when you are hungry, how to suck your thumb, how to take naps, how to sleep at night, how to smile when you want something, how to fuss when your brother steals a toy, how to charm any grandparent. You are so skilled at all things baby.
I think you will be great at all of the phases in your life, and if you aren't, that's okay, too. We can talk through those phases and maybe you'll learn from me and how I remember those phases.
