With My Nurse

This is Nurse Mary. She was my nurse through the pregnancy and offered me so much support.  She was delighted to see you and gave you the compliment that you are exquisite, and so feminine.  She loved your delicate features.

I hope you become as kind as this woman when you grow up and treat people like she does - like they are just SO special and important.  Those qualities will serve you well, Elsa Kate, in any field you choose.

A Bath Without Brother

You are six weeks old in these photos, and you are bathing alone.  Usually your brother wants to help you take a bath, but at this particular time, you threw up later in the evening and needed a scrub and he'd already gone down for the night.  

You have become very relaxed in your baths and we thought you looked like you were having fun!

Stretching and Sucking

Elsa is a good stretcher, and that usually interrupts her naps.  She has also learned to get one arm free from her swaddle, and when it is, she usually whacks her face with it and has started to suck on her wrist and hand.

And these things cut her naps short!

A Rare Sight - Grumpy Elsa

Elsa actually does not cry very much.  She has one or two crying jags per day, and they are usually in the late afternoon and associated with fatigue and over stimulation.   

Sometimes when her brother gets in her face and talks too loudly, she also throws a fit.  This is a scene from one such time. She is seven weeks old in these photos.

We still think she is cute when she cries.  She is just SO dramatic when she is grumpy!
