Bath Time Baby!

Elsa is a big fan of her baths, so instead of doing a washrag bath or every other day tub bath, we started to allow her bath time each night, usually right before her brother.  She enjoys the water by wiggling and kicking in it.  She also cooes and smiles the entire time she's submerged!  And by three months, she doesn't mind the temperature of the room after her bath and seems to enjoy her lotion massage and time putting on jammies.

Licking her lips.

Washing her head and torso.

Enjoying backside washing.

Really enjoying submerging in water.

Talking.

Talking with her lips closed!

More singing!

Look how long she's gotten!

Fingers in her mouth, a sign of happiness (except when its a sign of hunger or anger!).

Sucking that fist.

At this point, her brother was desperate to get in the tub, too!   She was looking at him throwing a little fit.

More singing!

Talking and kicking feet in water.

Grabbing and holding onto the washcloths.

Seriously adorable!

Cute Summer Time Outfit

You tolerate being dressed up so well!
I had fun putting this on you when we went to the library for story time.  I especially loved the tea cup shirt, the brown diaper that matched, and your head band.

Stetching her long legs and wearing an outfit her brother selected for her!

Tiny Feet

Elsa has such adorable, petite feet. Though she has grown so quickly,
her feet aren't growing that quickly and thus she has the tiny feet
that make us sigh with happiness when we see how cute they are out of
their socks. I especially like that she flexes and curls her toes!

Oh How We Love You

Dear Elsa,

Here is another love letter, inspired by the last hour or so we spent with you.

As your parents, we often marvel at how lucky we got when we got you.  We mention all the time how lovely we find you, how absolutely delightful you are, and how you make our lives even better.  (And you should know, life was pretty darn excellent before you were here, too.)

Tonight you were awake when your dad went into our room to brush his teeth.  You grinned your huge, open mouth smile when he picked you up.  You get so excited when you see another person com into the room when you are awake. Then you giggled when your daddy played tickle with you and you laughed the loudest I've heard you.  You smiled and looked at us both with such adoration that it made our hearts just swell.

I hope we remember to tell you how we feel about you when you are older.  I want to make it a point to tell you (daily, I hope!) that I am happy you are in our lives and that we care about you so much.  I also want to tell you that God designed you to to have a unique purpose in the world and that we'll help you as much as possible to develop your talents so you can serve Him as your best you.

Here are some photos of you sleeping.  They are precious to us because you are just as adorable asleep as you are awake. We also appreciate how you are unique from your brother - you suck your thumb for comfort, whereas he never did.

Elsa is really aware of her hands these days. She clasps them
together a lot. When he sees her holding her hands, Daniel often says,
"Elsie. PRAY!"

Tummy Time Photos

Elsa, I confess that I don't give you enough tummy time.

I am often concerned that your Daniel will step on you while he's doing a spontaneous, crazy dance.   Plus, you complain when you are on your belly because there is not as much to see.

I am happy that you have this lovely blanket from our friends Sue and Ann to study now.

The mirror also distracts you from the unpleasantries of tummy time, so that is good.  Its important for you to do these exercises so you'll have a strong back, neck, and core in order to crawl!

You also need this so you don't end up with a flat head from laying down on your back all the time.  So when you are whining about this, I often warn you about flat heads and poor muscle tone.

Fall Wardrobe!

I went shopping and wanted to share with you the outfits I selected for you, Elsa.  You were there too, but you didn't help me choose anything.  I hope you like these when you look back on them later!

Three outfits for the fall.  You look great in the dark pinks and browns, but I think the blue one is nice, too.

Sleepers.  I bought these brown, gender neutral ones because they have little bears, monkeys, and elephants on them.  They are so cute and made of light cotton.  They are perfect for the summer.  They are also size 6 months, which you wear right now because you are SO LONG at three months of age.

Hoodies and sweats, for days in the winter when you feel like you need an outfit, but don't want the hassle of an outfit.  These hoodies will be great.

Some winter/spring outfits.

Watching Brother's Birthday...

With very little enthusiasm.
You were so tired at the birthday dinner, Elsa, that you were asleep before the cake was cut.

Relaxing on Parent's Bed

She's such a sweet, pleasant child.

Its so easy to care for her and love her.

Delightful 11 Weeks!

Happy 11 Week Birthday, Sweetheart!

You spent the morning wiggling on a blanket,  cooing at me and your brother, and being absolutely adorable.

Side note: I am super glad you wear hot pink well.  Its my favorite color to dress you in these days, and it really makes your complexion stand out and emphasizes your sparkling, blue eyes!

Great Grandma Landolt made this blanket in 2009.

You spent this week almost entirely this happy and pleasant.  You are so easy to be around!
